[QUOTE=gonz911;9440736]Exhaust tips arrived very quickly - Wednesday. They're very impressive - large! The car hopefully gets home tomorrow from the shop - can't wait to mount the wheels/tires, exhaust tips and new badge. After that it's going to be another week before the appointment at Porsche to have the H&R springs installed. [QUOTE]

Nice stuff and looking forward to seeing the end result. However, I hope you don't slam the C2 like that M3!

LOL. Not quite that slammed but a little lower the just the H&R springs at 1.2"

I need slightly thicker sleeves as at full lock on the bolt they were still loose. I contacted Nello for resolution and hope to have them on soon.

I would follow the guidelines of my C2S w/ the "SPASM" setup. If you notice in my sig pic, she is lower that most C2S out there. The SPASM setup drops it 20mm more than a standard C2S w/ PASM.

Keep in mind that the exhaust tips on the Carreras don't really get that hot. They're designed to have slip-stream air passing over them--inside and out, to keep them from getting truly hot (like the rest of the exhaust system). Take a closer look sometime back there and you'll see what I mean. The powder coating will probably work for 80% of the world but for the rest of us who demand the ultimate, the ceramic coating, you'll never have to go down that path again.

Just got mine(ceramic coated tips) back and was told I just need to care for them like any painted part. No more Barkeeper's friend and rubbing with strips of towels.
BTW they do get hot enough that someone burned his hand touching them(not me); someone on a recent post.

Just one guy here, but one hot day at the track literally pulverized my black powder coated tips. All the black turned into a fine white powder, and blew away in the breeze. Looked like someone had been mixing illicit drugs on my tips.

They have since been ceramic coated.

This is good information. I'll have to check for someone in San Antonio for the ceramic coating. I'm waiting on a larger sleeve for proper fitment so this will work. A appreciate the advice.

I'm not sure about anything other than the 997. I have a standard Carrera and the tips are made for "S". They came with a sleeve to fit, but they're sending me one slightly thicker since I could get a tight-proper clamp.

They're absolutely amazing and measure 3.5" on the inner tip and 3" on the outer!

Many thanks to Nello at Maxspeed. Great guy to work with and helped with getting me exactly what I need for a PERFECT FIT.
