New Exhaust Tips - Matte Black PSE-Style Quad Exhaust Tips
I've searched the forums for a different set of tips to replace my oval Carrera tips and today I found (MaxSpeed MotorSports) and ordered a set of matte black PSE-style exhaust tips. I ordered the tips with the sleeves to accommodate what would otherwise fit the "S" model.
In any case, I will have them Wednesday, unfortunately, the car will not be back from the shop until Friday.
With the car I'm going for the monochromatic look with my Gray Metallic Ruf rep wheels, matte black tips, black "911" badge to replace "Carrera".
I'll post pictures when they're mounted on the car.
Other mods will be the H&R springs mounted next week, install of the Porsche Sport Mode Software for improved Tiptronic shifting and throttle response. While the springs are being installed I'm having the oil changed an oil specimen taken to have analyzed given the high miles on the car. Assuming all is well I plan on going F/I with the Carrera.

How much did the tips run you? I was considering black powder coating my wheels and tips but if these cost less then I may just keep the stock tips and get these instead.

I added one of these as well..
BTW.. did the same .. I find that my exhaust ends up chipin away flakes.. from time to time.. in-between the two ports..
I find that black matte BBQ paint works wel as a touch upl.. just a tip if you find chiping happens due to heat !

Where do you go to have the tips ceramic coated. Is this a service that an autobody shop would perform or is it something you send to a specialist?

Actually, you can powder coat them and they'll hold up fine. I had that done to the quad aftermarket stainless steel tips on my E46 M3 and they held up perfectly.

Don't powder coat...it will chip off....ceramic coat is good...or like I did...I sanded, primed and spray painted with 2000 degree exhaust paint...my black tips looked the same for years....even with hot track days...cost was about $5!

I think both will work but I never had a problem with that. I had the headers on my M3 ceramic coated because of the heat, but the exhaust tips powder coated and never had a single chip after a few years.

Exhaust tips arrived very quickly - Wednesday. They're very impressive - large! The car hopefully gets home tomorrow from the shop - can't wait to mount the wheels/tires, exhaust tips and new badge. After that it's going to be another week before the appointment at Porsche to have the H&R springs installed.
