Default Roof Antenna Delete

My '07 997 has a roof antenna that I believe is for AM reception. I took the antenna whip off and replaced it with a 1.5" stubby, but it drives me nuts. I've tried the "Search" function and I haven't found anything on this topic. I also went to the Suncoast Porsche parts site to see if they had something to no avail.

My car is presently at the bodyshop having the front windshield replaced (OEM) along with some rock chip repairs and a small ding on the roof. I'm wondering if I should have it welded/sealed, but I'd like to find some plug as with the newer version with satellite that have a flat type of antenna.

Anyone know what's available or options?

In the early days of the 997 they would add an AM antenna to the roof for the coupes and to the front right fender for the cabriolets at no additional charge. However, very few people ever ordered that option, since so many have switched over to satellite reception for long drives in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a closure kit to reverse that thing. I doubt, too, that any dealership will have a clue in how to deal with this.

What is it about the antenna (what's left) that is irritating? Does it catch on your cover or something?

I just don't like the look, otherwise not a big issue. I've been searching the forums and vendors and have found nothing.

Real fast response from Eric. No plug for that. Looks if I want it removed it's going to be body work.

Is there any chance the Sat roof wart would cover the hole? I don't notice the wart on my car. A stubby antenna would bother me. I hated the electric antenna on my 91 NSX.

Can you post a photo?

Alan - that's exactly what I was trying to source last night and couldn't find it. I checked Suncoast. I'm going to contact the local Porsche dealer for that today and see if that's an option. Thanks.

I don't have a very good picture of it and the car is in the body shop receiving some TLC. I also gave my daughter my SLR as she went to London for a semester so my iPhone was all I had. Anyway, one picture of the car right after I bought it with the antenna whip from a front angle, and a distant shot with the short stubby antenna.
