Default rear seat booster

greetings fellas-
this is a well covered topic, for sure. however, most, if not all of the previous suggestions for rear seat booster bases are of products that are no longer in production. anyone have a fresh/current suggestion for a booster bottom that fits in the back of our 997's?

not looking for the full booster with back support, but only the bottom. the combi dakota looked good last year, but no dice on locating one now.

Mike, I've got one of the Cosco boosters that you can usually find at Target or Walmart. Fits great with or without the rear seat pad in, and the best part is you can get them without the plastic base (a softer bottom version is available).

Here's a link:

got one at walmart for i think $20. Its narrow and fits perfectly back there. The more expensive ones are too wide.

Sorry just read that you didn't want one with the rear back . . .

Just got a pair of Recaro Vivo Back Booster in Carbon. Fit and look great. Side impact protection too. You can take one apart in two and shove way the back if you need the extra room. Some people removed the 911's bottom seat cushion but I found found the seat cushion to provide a little more stability.

My boy is right on the border..in California it's 8 years old or 4 ft 9 inches tall ( I think...I forget the exact numbers). He's 4 7 or so...he just needed a little extra height. So I just made one out of some stiff foam padding I had and it works great. The belt passes over his body where it should and he is comfortable.

Default Another Option for Rear Booster Seats

Hi guys, I just acquired an '05 997 C2S with RUF Kompressor kit and have a 7 year old girl and 4 year old boy. After searching the internet for Rear Seat Booster options including this forum and 6speedonline. Thanks to the posts from rickmdz & PasPar2 about the Harmony Backless Booster sold at Wal-Mart being narrow enough to fit within the molded sections of the 997 rear seat, I went to check them out. (FYI - The dimension of the 997 where the horizontal and vertical sections of the rear seats meet is only about 10.5" wide.) I discovered that Harmony also makes a full booster seat with back, adjustable head rest and belt positioner and it's base was very close in size to the backless booster. I had removed the factory rear seating to preserve the leather, but bought a couple of black towels to catch any spills, and installed these (see photos). They fit very well, and it doesn't hurt that the outside of my car is GT Silver with Black interior and these seats are black & silver. They're only $39 each at Wal-Mart and received a high safety rating in the comparison of car seats - I don't recall who copied and pasted that list into which forum but this model was in the higher rated category.

Those look very nice indeed. I only use it occasionally for short runs, so they work for what they are. No fancy stuff.
