Are 997.2 values really this bad?
Here is the car in question:
2011 C2S, guards red with full natural brown leather. Less than 3000 miles.
Loaded with:
- Nav
- Bose and XM radio, bluetooth
- PDK and sport chrono
- PASM sport suspension and LSD
- heated and ventilated power seats with memory
- Turbo II wheels
- Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering
- sport design paddle shift steering wheel
MSRP of just over $112k.
What would a reasonable private party sale price be? I know the trade value would be somewhere between diddly and squat.
Can anyone with access to some of the Manheim auctions or actual sale prices of comparable vehicles add anything?
Thanks!

The trade in value for this car should be excellent. It's practically a new car. The 997.2 used cars are selling like hot cakes at the dealers. They would love to get it for a trade in. I believe trade in value is way up there for this car. If someone doesn't buy it shortly off their lot someone from Germany or other European country will. They can't get enough of these from the US.
If you're thinking you should be able to steal this car from the seller, forget it.
I'd say that car is in the $90k neighborhood.

I really don't under stand. What's the question? Bad? As in good? Not good? High? Low? Explain?

I've been offered high $70's, low $80's for the car. The lower amount was from the local stealer, who practices a 'buy crazy low, sell stupid high' philosophy.
I thought high $80's or low $90's would be more reasonable. Seems I was right.

Oh, you're selling. I thought you were trying to buy it. Sorry.
If you're thinking of trading it in I'd talk to other dealers. I've heard of guys doing very well on trade-ins right now.
Sounds like a great car. Why are you selling it?

Last fall I had my 09 C2S coupe in for service and asked them to give me a trade in price on it so when the 991's came out I could work a deal for a new car without dragging it out in the snow and salt.... 6K MILES
$65 offered on trade..
I'll probably put it up for private sale and ask $78,900 20 months of warranty left... I've got room to work with the price. .

When reading this I knew I recognized the car... Seen it on Ebay. I'm in the market for an C2S 997.2 and looked at your posting. Guards Red is not on my shopping list, but if I could offer some friendly advise from something that has looked at a ton of cars online you should beef up the photos. You have 4 tiny pics and a car in this price range should have 20+ high quality pics to really show off the car.
Best of luck... I agree with the other posters that the values of the C2S 997s are holding up well much to my dismay

I would agree that upper 70's is about the high end of what you might expect to see on a trade. If you sell it outright you may have better luck. There are a lot of cars for sale but they have higher milage and may not be as pristine as yours appears to be.
I think many of us seem to remember what we were able to obtain the first 997.2's for during that time. It may or may not play a roll depending on who is purchasing the car. This is why I will hold onto mine for a couple more years unless the resale increases for some reason.

Wow, pretty car! GLWS. It is the perfect upgrade for me with everything I would want, color combo & options. I currently have an '07 C2S in Guards Red / Sand Beige. So it would be a 'stealth' upgrade for me which is what I like.
