I have a V1 in each car. F/R protection and directional arrows superior to simple beep warning, IMHO.

This prevents a cord from running from the cigarette lighter to the device on the windshield or dash which I do not ever want to do if I can avoid it.

Any experience with using or mounting the Valentine One or a different detector in a 997 would be appreciated. I noted that the Escort Passport 9500ix is getting even better reviews than the Valentine One.

Thanks!
Go V1 and have it installed in your rear view mirror.

Whoa.... did you do this yourself? Any chance you did a DIY write up on this? May have to attempt this with one of my units.

in response to the last 2 questions. I would not do it yourself, very technical install. Also make sure you get the glass etched around all arrows, etc. It's almost impossible to see during the day if you don't.
All wires, sensors, etc, etc, are completely concealed. They go thru the headliner for the rear sensor, front I believe shoots out from the mount. If you know a good speedshop around you , they should know how to do this. It's well known in NYC.

Yeah, I believe they are illegal most everywhere on the grounds that you are interfering with the police equipment and them doing their jobs.

However, I've heard of systems that will jam their laser for like three seconds to give you some time to slow down. Then the jammer turns off and apparently the cop using the laser won't know he was jammed.

That's about all I've heard. Anyone?

Default got a..

9500ix, and have been ticket free for two years.
Its a great unit, love it.

Have taken from LA to Vegas, Orange County to Vegas, and use it for daily driver of course, so its daily/constant use.

Had it direct wired to the fusebox and is perfect, recommend to anyone who was a decent all-around unit not targeted to any specific single technology.

Cheers

I have the K-40 RL with Laser Defuser which is integrated into the dash. It is a very clean look and the product works very well. I like the Laser Defuser because it provides an extra level confidence. Its not uncommon to see a cop standing on the side of the road shooting Laser then calling forward to another cop to pull you over. Make sure it's not illegal to have a Laser Defuser in your State. In most States it's illegal to have a Radar Defuser but most still allow Laser....for now anyway.

9500ix w Escort Live.
Detector is state of the art, and the new Live platform works. Automatically alerts all users to radar hits, and you can report cop sitings with the push of a button.
We were driving south on the Northway (87) 2 days ago, and we were alerted to a "cop" from a distance of about 1.5 miles. The radar did not go off, but the trooper was camped out probably doing instant-on shots with the gun. We passed going 65

Trapster also helps if you have a smartphone... wish my Escort Redline would connect to Escort Live though. Would be ideal for Texas.

K-40 supposedly is the way to go in TX according to an installer here in Austin. Jammers are illegal in TX but K-40 does not show on LEO Lidar detectors so you might not get ticketed for having one... unless they notice the jammers on your front fascia.

My Redline saved me yesterday... driving out of our development over a hill on the up side. "danger Will Robinson"... I'd pay extra to have a RADAR detector say that instead of $#%@!! Sure enough LEO was waiting at the top of the hill. Even better... my wife, the family accountant and accountant by trade, recognized the potential financial impact we just avoided. Redline just paid for itself... again! hehe... gotta love the little things/payback in life. Oh my! Redline you just paid for another gun in my armory.
