i live in the DC suburbs. went to one launch party on saturday, they have one in white. another is having a launch party this weekend, and another is having one next weekend i think (but i've heard that dealer already has 4 in stock).

I drove one today. I thought it was just as good as my 997! Really there was nothing about the short drive that said OMG I just have one of these. Mine is an S Cab it was an S coupe.
Seat of pants it felt the same. I'm sure it will do the ring faster. I don't really do the ring.
The ride seemed a little smoother.

Sat in a 991 Carrera S last weekend They wouldn't let me drive it, though taking a 997 GTS cab for a spin was a nice consolation. Damned nice car, both of them!

I do like the new Panamera-style console on the 991; I thought I'd hate it,but it feels way more natural than older designs. I couldn't get the seat in a comfortable position to grip the wheel without banging my knees, though. Is the wheel telescoping, or is there simply less knee room than the 996 & 997?

Test-fit the rear seats, too. This was with the passenger seat pushed pretty much full forward:

I have some other stuff going on so it's a matter of timing, Gary. But I want to go and will try to make it. A good excuse for a drive (it's about 40 miles to my dealer) and talking Porsches with other folks.

The wheel is adjustable fore and aft and for height. It was probably lowered in the car you tried.
