Pewter82 not all the PDK cars have the center radiator. I own a 2012 Black Edition 911 PDK equipped car and it does not have the third radiator. Maybe it is only on the S models?

The earlier 997S PDK MK2's didn't come with the 3rd radiator, in fact. (The second photo from the top shows my '09 997S.2 PDK next to my 2012 997s; no 3rd radiator on the '09). Not sure why the 3.6-liter black edition PDK doesn't come with the 3rd radiator. Maybe the overheating PDK problems were mostly on the 3.8 engines?
What I find unacceptable is some accountant at Porsche having skimped on a 5-dollar grille to protect the 3rd radiator. Mine has barely covered 600 miles and is already dented and bug-ridden...

Mine's an 09 and does not have the third, only the side ones. There must of been a problem with cooling somewhere, would be nice to know and look out for.
Being "square on" that third radiator's gonna take a bashing, bugs are one thing, stones and track use be be severe. You can't obstruct it too much with a shield of sorts as it requires the air flow. A recent thread showed some mesh screens that are available, maybe get the dealer to pay and install ?
Nice car tho, good luck.

Well the car is under warranty for the next four years.....but after spending a lot of lolly on the car I'd be back to the dealer to see what P can offer as a resolution. I'd never be searchin the internet looking for a fix for a 100k plus car I just bought "new". Put it in the dealers hands, let them sort it out.

I'm sure some will debate what qualifies as "very hot climates". All the same....drove mine all summer in 90-95 degree Florida heat with no issues.

Not sure if "hot weather" is appropriate to qualify Santiago weather; yearly avg here is lower than most places in So. Cal.
I believe all 997.2S's from 2011 onwards come standard with the 3rd radiatior + no grille. And I did have a Porsche engineer "confess" to me the 3rd radiator was added as a "precaution" due to overheating issues with some PDK models. Don't think Porsche will assume any responsibility on adding any grille, since they can always claim it's not part of the design. If the radiator busts, they'll simply replace it. But I'd seriously doubt they'll design a new part for a specific customer.

Wife and I had a long seasonal trip to Europe, to care for our real estate in Portugal. 997.2 S and Cayenne S left quietly parked in their garage in Santiago for the period. Missed the Porsches immensly during this period !!
Came back last weekend; took the indoor cover off the 997S, opened her up, got in, turned the key, and ... immediate start. Almost 3 months in storage; no trickle charger. KUDOS for a good Porsche battery ! :-) More of the same with the Cayenne.
Here's a quick pic taken on it's first post-hibernation ride. With a scant 2.500km's on the clock, now working hard to catch up on putting some more Km's down![Cool](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
