Definitely not serious but I guess my wit is not sharp enough. The next guy got it though with the over inflate the tires. Some of these threads are just too good to let go...
I returned to an almost dead battery from a 3-week trip a few years ago. Had zero issues starting the car prior to the trip but maybe that battery wasn't a good proxy being almost 3 years old at the time. These cars do use battery power when parked though whether you have something plugged in or not. After that incident I disconnect the battery when traveling for more than two weeks. If you go that route, DON'T close/latch the front hood since none of the release buttons work without battery power. If you feel that you have to close the hood being in a condo garage you'll need jumper cables and another battery to get the front hood open. Go to your fuse panel and look for a red bar in the upper right hand corner. That pulls out and you attach the + jumper cable to it.
So there is no "manual" release for the hood and the battery is still there like my 993? Seems like a dumb design. You would think they would put an emergency release some where.

Actually there are two manual releases for the hood. One is located inside the hood which makes it worthless for all but small children who manage to lock themselves in there. The other one is somewhere between the left front wheel well and the front bumper and requires both a jack and assorted tools to access. Been through that one too. Took a Porsche mechanic half a day to access the release cable and put everything back together again: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...is-at-all.html

Haha. Some of these 997 threads are classic, especially ones that involve driving the car in the rain!!!
Well if u r in Ontario and are waiting for perfect weather, enjoy your 10 days of driving per year !! My 993 is in the garage but the 997's got the snows on and ready to go (but with this weather may be getting the 993 back out....)
