Wow that PDK issue is odd. I'd definitely have them deal with it. Never have that. So if you hit redline it still stays in first?
That I couldn't tell you. I've had traffic behind me every time it happened so had to pop it into 2nd manually to stay with the flow. Last week was the last episode and it went past 6K rpm with no indication of seeking 2nd.

Something like that is what I had in mind when I asked the dealer if there may be an easy fix. I think I'll try that. To be clear, this is not a daily event or even a monthly event. I've put 8,500 miles on the car and it may have happened 4 or 5 times.

Or in sport plus. That's been my thought since it happened the first time. Some kind of erroneous signal indicating a mode other than the one actually selected.
