thanks.
It does NOT attach to the garage floor. It is a "floating" floor.

While the joints are pretty tight, I think water will penetrate the seams and reach the concrete garage floor. Most companies that sell this type of tile also have vented tiles designed specifically to allow water to pass through the tile to the garage floor.

Yes, on pic#3, was wondering how does the transition work.

I agree on price, I am on the same boat. If I pick another brand, I'll ask them to price match.

Last question, how does it handle water, mud, etc... that you might bring it with your car? I assume it just rolls off the tiles in the direction of ground slope, assuming to the outside, right? Didn't you need to pick a drainage one? The ones that got hole throughout for water to drain down?

Thanks

I agree with your thinking.

How does it compare to RaceDeck tiles? Curious as to whether RaceDeck is better (or not).

Mark,

No sure how they compare to RaceDeck because I have never seen a RaceDeck tile in person.

Floor "floats" on the concrete. It is raised and open underneath so fluids will flow to drains and air can circulates under the floor. I bought mine at autoanything.com

I did mine about 6 years ago. It's holding up great with spills easy to clean up. Only downside is it does become "dull" over time, losing it's shine with lots of tiny scratches. No big deal...

I went with Racedeck. Cost was about the same at the time as all other options I checked.

I'm leaning towards a polished concete floor, like in the big box stores, I've seen the Race Decks and they seem to get crud caught under/between the tiles.
Yes I know polished concrete (@ $3 a sq/f) can stain with tranny fluid but I don't do any fluid changes myself anyway.
What could be easier to maintain than polished concrete? Kinda like granite in the kitchen I would think.
I've had an epoxy floor and even after good prep work the paint will eventualy lift under the tires.

If you go with Racedeck, join over at garagejournal.com and you'll get a nice member discount. I think I paid about $2.50/sq. ft delivered to Buffalo. I compared a number of brands of tile before buying and Racedeck seemed to have the highest quality. They will also replace any tile that gets damaged free of charge with no questions asked. Really great customer service!
