Is a glove box sized fire extinguisher useful?
I do about 6 DE days a year and was thinking that a fire extinguisher might be a good addition for safety.
I don't have a roll bar and was hoping to avoid the seat mount.
Anybody think there is enough juice in the glove box sized fire extinguishers?
Any experience with one that size?

if you've got a fire, it's have to be better than nothing.....no?
sorry, I just don't know but I wouldn't mind a mini for normal use

It depends on the DE event; ask the coordinator of the event. It a recommendation to have a fire ext in your vehicle for most DE events...
Also, recommend the Halotron for your expensive vehicle.

An extinguisher which fits in the glove box would be useful for putting out a cigarette and maybe a cigar. Nothing more. More regions call for a 2.5 lb or better extinguisher. The factory seat mount extinguisher is better than anything else I've seen and may be a better option.

What is your region?? The Metro NY region makes it mandatory to have an extinguisher! I simply bolted mine below the passenger seat.

In most events now the 2.5 lbs is the minimum, plus you required to have a metal to metal bracket...
this is my solution...

First and foremost, the extinguisher is only there to give you more time to exit the car if needed. If the car is on fire, exit the car and away from the car. Odds are very slim that your 2.5 will put out an oil or fuel based fire.
Secondly, a fire extinguisher mounted in the glovebox is not readily accessible.
