Had PSE on my 996 - loved it - got better with age and RPMs.
Now I'm looking to add a new exhaust to the 997 and am interested in owner perspectives or firsthand knowledge of each of the following brands.
Thanks.![bowdown](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bowdown.gif)
Tubi
Borla
Billy Boat
Fabspeed
Any others?

I replaced my center muffler with Sharkwerks pipes, then a couple of weeks later, added PSE. You could do it all at one time if you wanted.

The other evening some guy driving by inside a parking garage wanted to know what I was running for an exhaust system...just replied a stock Porsche Sport Exhaust with the X51 headers.

I have an 06 C4 and had Tubi Exhaust installed and I love it. Sounds awesome, throttle is more responsive, and I get better gas milage when I drive like a law abiding citizen (which is not very often).

If you got 997.1, the PSE is AWESOME! Just note that IF you wanna install the on/off, the installation cost could run into $1000 or more!

If you replace the center muffler with cross over pipes ( eg Sharkwerks) and leave the stock sidemufflers you will get more exhaust sound and a little extra power as well. However, it is not very loud. IN fact it sounds similar to a 997.1 stock. I like it. I have heard that if you buy the PSE without changing the centermufler on the 997.2, the sound is disappointing. Take Tim's approach and start with the center muffler replacement ($700-800). If thats not enough, you still have the same list of aftermarket options for sidemuffler. Most here seem to go back to PSE.

Get the PSE-you'll love the sound when opened up.
Then you can find numerous posts here on how to unplug it so it stays open all the time-real simple.
Or you could save yourself a grand and have the Gundo Hack done for a couple hundred bucks.

I had a PSE on my 997.1 .. was smooth and enjoyed it.. but I hate the way Porsche set it up.. you had to push it to turn it on .. ITS A SPORTS CAR !.. they should have had it reversed .. enable the baffles when required.. ended up just unplugging the connector and leaving it on all the time.
I not have a 997.2 with a Tubi.. it gurgles and at 4K RPM.. it purrrs and growls when you want it..
love my TUBI exhaust !
