Default Back in a 911 -- 2010 C2S

Just bought a CPO'd 2010 that had been sitting on the dealer lot for 18mos without selling. They marked it "used" at the first of the year. Poor car; I needed to save it

2010 C2S, silver, black, sport-pasm, 6spd, and a bunch of other options. It had 350mi on it when I bought it.

This is my 3rd porsche. Most recently I traded my 987S on an M3 4door about 9mos ago -- thinking I'd found the perfect family sports car. I never gelled w/the M3. Pedal placement was all wrong, zero clutch feel, etc.

Ironically, I thought hard about buying the very 997 I just purchased back when I bought the M3. it stuck around at the dealer long enough for me to come to my senses.

Love the car so far. Fits like an old glove.

Here's a pic (I hope).

I hope you got a terrific deal--and a NEW battery in the deal.

I feel like I did quite well on both the 997 and the M3-trade. But, I'm sure the dealer is still able to keep paying the power bill

And no, didn't get a new battery. We'll see if my old Porsche trickle charger can freshen it up.

the only obvious wear/tear I've found thus far is general paint condition (needs a serious polish/wax, which I'm in progress with right now), and "sticky" power windows. The window seals feel like they almost need to be lubricated to allow the window to move more freely. Is there such a lube? Perhaps just a rubber treatment of some sort?

Also, am I supposed to have auto-up on the passenger window? Could be related to the extra drag from the window seal...

stiles_s,

Drove that car twice with E.H. Have watched it for 6 months but just couldn't pull the trigger. When I read your post I actually felt light-headed for a a second... disappointed and kicking myself! I hope you got a great price on that great car. Good luck!

Congrats!

Any good rubber/vinyl conditioners will work well on the seals. Seeing as you're from WA I would suggest Griots Vinyl/Rubber, works well and has UV protection.

I think I saw you in there a couple weekends ago driving it. I was afraid you might do a deal on it. Went home pretty crushed.

Who knows that a great price really is. I think I did OK, and they treated me well on my trade (surprisingly well). The way it worked out, I was actually money ahead driving the M3 for 9mos and trading it on the 997, compared to trading my 987S on the same car 9mos ago. The 997 depreciated faster than my M3.

I feel your pain. I think they still have a black edition 2010 down there don't they? The CPO deals on the 2010s are pretty amazing. Great price, and a huge warranty on an effectively new car.

At least on my 997.1, power-up on the passenger window is activated after holding the switch up through about 1/3--1/2 the window's travel. Then release and it goes up all the way.

Thanks all

Yes, the dealer starts w/a B. As dealers go, they've treated me fairly well over the years.

I'm wide open to recommendations, though.
