Default License plate LED bulbs

Anyone successfully purchased one with good results? I have a white 997 and would like to rid of the yellowish plate lights. Just wante one that doesn't trip the computer, reliable, throws out the right amount of lighting, and sourced by a reputable vendor.

Thanks in advance!

I can't put my hands on the site right this second but this issue has been discussed both here and on the 996 forums. They're apparently good--don't throw codes at you. Also, you can chose the color temperature of the LEDs you seek. Some are a little too blue while some are dialed back a bit so that the license plate area doesn't ATTRACT attention.

I just want the temp that's as close to what other OEMs are putting on their cars like Lexus, BMW, etc. and, yes, just the right amount of OEM engineered lighting. Would love to get the site and bulb info! Thanks, Edg.

Just ordered these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Error...ht_3678wt_1014

I opted to go with the 2 SMD units as the 3 is going to be too bright (i.e. lights up the ground).

I just installed my from:
http://www.hoen-usa.com/licenseplate.htm

I got the digital license plate assembly. It says sold out on the page but you just have to email them. The color matches the OEM Audi license plate lights and there are no errors whatsoever.

Actually, some of the LED license plate lights are very distracting--both in brightness (intensity) and in blueness. I think it's best to find a set that are bright enough to do the job, and do with with a simple neutral white color.

I ordered a set of the Hoen and installed them the other day. They seem pretty bright, however.

I would stay the h_ll away from Hoen. I bought a pair of D2S bulbs from them, and one of them was defective after 1 month. And they have failed to replace them after 4 weeks. Their license plate LED's are also horribly overpriced. You can use any old 36mm (3610) LED bulb in there.

These will work:
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/fp/SFV/32481 $14 each

or even these:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/vehic...ting/49/203/56
$2.84 each

Or you can pay $55 a set. Your choice.
