Just a guess but, perhaps, folks looking for a high priced four door car want more luxury and less performance than the Panamera offers? The Panamera seems to be a great car ( I have not driven one) but in that segment there are others to consider like an A8 or an S class. The Audi is quite impressive.
One dealer told me that they aren't getting enough new cars because Porsche has been allotting more units to China. Maybe this is why they are selling less in the US.
