Default VIN Decoder for a 997

Hello rennlist fellow members.

I did a search to no luck about how to read a 997 VIN number, through the magic of Google, I got some pointers that make me think that I have an understanding of how to read a Porsche VIN. Unfortunately my approach seems flaw.
Starting with a VIN W-P-0-CA299-5-5-S-755227 I concluded the following :

W - Manufactured in Germany
P - Manufactured by Porsche
0 - Vehicle type ?
CA299 - type, model, series ?
5 - VIN accuracy check digit
5 - Model year
S - Assembled in Stuttgart
755227 - Sequence of production

Does anyone have a good understanding of how far off am I? Do you mind sharing the knowledge? Thank you in advance for your follow up.

They are scattered around in places that require you to take things apart to find them.

I understand that , i just want to make sure atleast half of them match , i want to visually make sure of that , had a horror of buying a used salavge car that was repaired with a stolen vehicle and vins did not match , i am looking to purchase a rebuilt title 996 with a 997 GT3 conversion at a large discount but it and want to make sure i am not getting the short end of the stick before i purchase.
