Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I've last posted on this site and it's with regret that I have to make this post. We recently had a new addition to the family and my wife badly needs a new car, which means there's no room for my weekend toy.
I have an '06 Carrera S Cab in Guards Red with roughly 36k miles on it. The car is practically brand new. I believe there is a tiny bit of curb rash on the passenger side rear rim and there are a few options on it like colored wheel crests, porsche sport exhaust, bose audio and PCM2, red dials on the dash.
I'm considering selling it private rather than trade in so that I can a) get my money's worth and b) ensure it goes to a nice new owner.
What would be a reasonable asking price?

Well, it's not exactly sad that you had a new addition to your family - I'm assuming it's a baby. I'm also sure you didn't mean it that way. That said, I can't give you an estimate but I do wish you all the best.

Congratulations on the good news. You can always get another Porsche.

Congratulations and enjoy being a father. Had a Porsche before our children and then took a 25 year absence form driving these great cars while we raised them. The kids are now both over forty and we have Porsche cars back in the garage. It's all priorities and you have selected the correct one. At least now you have the option of a Cayenne to keep you with the breed and still safely transport you growing family.

Congratulations on your new addition. You can always get another car, sounds like you have your priorities in order. Get the next one to share with your new son. Beautiful car, somewhere around 50 sounds about right.

I think you should ask $55k. Dealers are asking in the high 50s/low 60s for CPO '06s... Start at $55k, and sell above $50k...
As a data point, I paid $56k for my 26k example of an 06 C2S Cab in January. The market has actually gone up since then...(user car prices are at an all-time high)
My $0.02,
-Blake

congrats on a baby coming. i got 2 kids now - 5 and 2, and won fight to keep my car when second kid came.
i would say same - put asking price for $55K for your cab, sell at 50-52. a cab goes for higher price than a coupe.

Congrats on the new addition. My advice would be unless you're selling the Carrera for other purposes (cash needed) keep it. You can transport your new addition in the back easily now and for some time to come. My 10 y/o still fits in the back seat of mine while my 12 y/o is a little more closer to my height and sits up front. So if transporting the kids in the Carrera is the issue..it can be done. Keep the car. I speak from the experience of selling an 05 Carrera Artic Silver/black combo and an M3 in my past for similar reason that in each case I regeretted and also found a work around solution (albeit many months later in hindsight which would have allowed me to keep the car).
As for wife's transport...if needed pickup a nice small crossover or sedan. Lots of my friends like the Subarau Outbacks and I am impressed with the likes of the Q5, Outlander sport, and new X3 which are all good size for the new family but not outrageously expensive. Sedans? A4, 3 series, and alot others fall in that group to choose from.
But if you must sell the car...then others are in the ballpark.

Don't fret...I sold my Porsche and my boat 16 years ago when my first daughter was born....3 kids and 16 years later I bought my daughter a new car for her birthday and bought myself another Porsche. Hope it doesn't take you as long. p.s. the car is much cheaper than the kids!

MJ,
Congrats & Condolences![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I purchased an 06 C2S Cab, April of this year for $58k. (private sale) Its optioned similar to your car, difference being the milage, in my case 6k. It was far and away the best car I had looked at and the PPI confirmed that.
Seems to me $55k or a little higher would be a good starting point, then allow for a little wiggle room.
Good Luck, and by the way.... its the best $58k I've ever spent!!
