Rich parents, regardless of race or location, really do stupid things to show their "affection" like buying them 500+ hp cars. Might as well buy them a loaded gun.

If i was the judge over this case, i would: Impound the cars, suspend the DL's, make the kids do community service like picking up trash on the freeways!

I think driver's license laws need to be changed.

I've always been amazed that a 16 year old kid (in the US) w/ a brand new license can walk into a motorcycle shop and buy a 200hp superbike w/ the performance nearing that of an F1 race car.
They're talking about auctioning the cars off. A year or two ago they did it to a couple of guys street racing. A Gallardo and an R8 I think which sold for a combined $100K. If they're going to auction off this lot I'd love to be there;-)

They cannot do that since cops did NOT catch them in the act. They got em in two separate groups getting off the highway from two different exits. So, all the can go by is the other people's claims which is weak in courts if they went that far.

I'm sure those auctions are reserved for close friends of government officials ;-)

The police acted just based on a few callers who estimated the bunch of loud flashy cars passing them.

No evidence of any sort. I doubt they have the skills and space to speed 200 km/h during rush hour.

I think the comments are a bit harsh, they are teenagers and acted like one. Don't tell me every single one of you on here didn't do something stupid at that age. I didn't have a Lambo, I had an 81 Toyota corolla hatchback that I tried to do a burnout with. Never been accused of speeding b/c the car isn't capable of doing so. Whether you are rich or not, they are just being kids, enjoying their stupidity. Auction their cars, impound them, really? I don't wish that on my worst enemy. Community service, yes, make them scrub toilets but taking a car away is just pure wrong.

There is some truth to Asians driving up cost of living in Vancouver by pulling money out of China, buying every piece of land they can get their hands on and creating a bubble. No 18-20yr old can just afford 100K+ car on their *income* in Canada... On the other hand, we don't have 14 Trillion dollars in debt, our currency hasn't been devalued to junk status by our Fed printing money hand over fist, and we still HAVE a middle class and not just a super rich vs. poor society!
and -20? Well, not here...Vancouver has been the #1 livable city over the last decade, and Toronto weather is almost identical to NY! So, that's just another ignorant comment on that site from someone who's got no clue.

As much as I HATE cops
holy xenophobia batman. next time, take the moral high road, the view is better.

OR, go to OT, where this dribble is actually welcomed
