Race Pad to Rotor Ratio?
How often are you guys (On some sort of race pad) replacing your rotors?
I'm usually at
2 sets of pads to 1 rotor using Carbotech XP10s and Stock Rotors. (997s)

Useing Pagid Yellow front and Black in rear I get about 5 days out of the pads and 7-8 days out of the rotors. This is at Sebring which is very hard on brakes.

See, i usually feel like I'm pushing it to hit the 2 to 1 ratio on xp 10s
Like mdrums I kind of want to ditch them after 1.5 but don't because I don't want to transfer 1/2 worn pads to new rotors. Nor do I want to throw out $200 worth of pad.
I'm going to TRY to run through 2 sets of carbotech xp12s and measure the rotor at various stages on a single rotor.
Then I'm switching to a new compound carbotech just came out with that seems like it might last almost 2x as long. Well see.

I am using ATE 350mm rotors, and they are now at 15 events! [~30 days]. I put on PFC-06s at the same time and they are just about done now. That's over a year on both parts. The rotors are a HUGE improvement over stock cross drilled that would start cracking after the first day, and crack out completely after 3 or 4. I also used Deman rotors which lasted just as long and were lighter, but cost a bit more. The ATE rotors are about 2 lbs heavier per corner. I still use stock rear rotors, which last forever on a 996. In short, I'm going to end up at 1:1 on this set of equipment (for the fronts anyway)
FWIW, rotors were $205 SHIPPED (both rotors, not each). Pads were $585 SHIPPED. That's under $800 for a "years supply." [In case you didn't notice, I have a 996 GT3.]

Stop using Carbotech pads...get some real pads...Performance Friction or Pagid.

Next season I think I'll try Pagid Yellow/Black.

Where did you get the ATE rotors from? Are they widely considered better than stock ones? Were they solid or slotted? Are you swapping them out due to thickness or cracking?

See this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...s-for-gt3.html
I posted a 1-year update near the end of the thread.
Also, most rotors are better than stock for the track
