Tail of the dragon question - need a quick answer
sick of sitting here with no power so moved up some work I was going to have done on the car at TPC Racing and then thought of continuing down to tail of the dragon area.
two questions. is there an address that I can use for navigation purposes? Robbinsville?
secondly, since i'm not sure of when i'll get there do you think i'll have any chance on getting a room if needed?
i'm sure I can find the answers but I literally just decided to this today and starting the trip tonight to be at TPC tomorrow.

P.S. I signed that petition about big rigs. I gave up driving the Angeles Crest highway out here after seeing one too many motorcycles peeled off the front of motorhomes that had to use both lanes to get around tight corners. If they can ban heavy vehicles on certain residential roads, why not conserve some of these rural highways for light vehicle use?

The Tail of the Dragon technically starts at the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort on Hwy. US129 ( which is the Tail of the Dragon). I went there with one of my Ducati's back in 2007 for one full week and had a ball. Please be careful there are normally a lot of motorcycles on the Tail of the Dragon. Some are very fast and some are very slow, please look out for them.

if you got to robbinsville and go west on 129 you go thru the t of t d. There are plenty of places to stay in the area.
if you go to venore tn and go back east on 360 you go to tellico plains, and get on the cherhola skyway, back to robbinsville. good hotels in tellico plains too.

If you follow 129 back towards 411 and Knoxville you will find a lot of rooms within 30 minutes.
You picked a good time to go. The weekends are crowded. Ten over most likely won't get you a ticket. Fifteen over will have them looking. Hope you are enjoying your day.

I've been years ago twice. A lot of fun but in the recent years there has been a lot more traffic and in turn, more accidents, and in turn, more cops! You still have to go at least once. The Gap is awsome!
