Arrow Converting 997 S PCCB to Steels

Hi there

I've got a 997.1 C2S with PCCB and I am now contemplating doing more track events and as such wish to preserve my PCCB rotars.

I've been told its possible to convert back to steels using Porsche genuine parts whilst retaining the larger front 6 piston calipers and 4 piston rear calipers from the PCCB.

So the question is what rotars and pads, plus any other bits do I need to purchase? Am I buying GT3 or Turbo parts or even better does anyone know the part numbers for the parts required to do this conversion?

From what I read on this site your rotors are the same as the 2007 997.1 turbo and 997.1 GT3. 350mm fronts and 330 rears. I'm not 100% sure but I think the rear calipers on the 09+ GT3s changed but someone can chime in on that. My car got the GT3 factory pads front and rear from the dealer I bought it from. They replaced the PCCBs with the steelies and correct pads.

Behind 19 inch OZs.

The steel brakes are 330 on the carrera and 350 on the turbos. The pccb are 350. You could use your current calipers w/ the steel 350 rotors. Personally i would consider after mkt slotted rotors w/ pagid race pads for the track. Lastly you could also 380 brembo kit. Those are nice.

Hi there

So what I need to order is:-

1. 997.1 Turbo steel rotars, 350mm all round?
2. 997.1 GT3 pads all round?
3. What about bolts for calipers etc?

What is the Brembo 380mm kit? Any links or part numbers please?

yes, just verify w/ the P parts person.

Tirerack and Sharkwerks sell the Brembos. You have a lot of options here.

Hi there

Porsche are looking into this for me.

What they have confirmed is my PCCB is 350mm all round, only gen 2 Turbo's get 380mm PCCB up front, wheras 997 S was gen2 rotars but they were 350mm size all round.

They are very confident that the 350mm 997.1 Turbo rotars will be a direct fit.

They are now looking into pads as to which GT3 model will be compatible.

Anyone think I shall need different bolts at all?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the PCCB's supposed to be better and last longer in track setting?
