I don't think the older version will work with the 997. However I thought I read on the Durametric website that Durametric might upgrade your older cable for free or a reduced cost. Worth a call.

I hate seat belt chimes too, and also the visors with the warnings.

They bother me much more than the chimes. It's a tedious process but they can be removed....looks a lot better without them.
