Great price and great unit.
The unit with jam the lidar gun. This will give you time to slow down, turn the unit off, and drive by the police with a big smile.

If you watch the infomercial on the LI website you'll get the idea. As function12 explained, the LI reacts to incoming laser by sending back a garbage signal to the laser gun. At the same time it gives the driver an audible alert to report the laser intrusion. Valentines and other detectors are completely useless against laser - when you get a laser alert on a Valentine it's just a courtesy message that you should get ready to receive your ticket. There is no such thing as a laser "warning".

So, while the police officer keeps "aiming and shooting", trying to get a lock on your speed, you slow down and turn the unit off.

In my experience, I never actually turn my laser defenses off - even when I receive an alert. I don't think most cops really care if they can't get a proper read on the odd car going by - they just ignore it and move onto the next target.

I'd love to go on one of those Saturday Caulfield drives - it's just that my constitution doesn't allow any meaningful activity at such an ungodly hour.

It works. K40 is crap. I have seen it first hand in real world testing. My current car came with the k40 radar dector it is crap too.

The Laser Interceptor is the hands down best laser jammer. It performs much better than the Escort 9500ci and the K40.

My grandmother never got a ticket either and she used nothing.

As of 09/01/11 Lidar jammer sales, install, and use will be illegal in TX thanks to some Plano police and jerks that were jamming to the gun. Class C MISD at this point it caught.
So, either buy them now while you can or just stay out of the game.
