My new (to me) '06 997S
In a span of less than 2 weeks I sold my '87 911 and picked up this '06 997S. I owned the '87 for over 9 years as it was my first. But over time I got tired of the lack of low end torque and the lack of creature comforts that prevented me, from say, going out to dinner on a hot summer evening.
My plan was to sell the '87 and begin what I thought would be a months long search for my 997. I joined PCA so I could get the Panorama magazine and browse the for sale ads and I had been scanning Porsche ads for over a year knowing I would be in a position to buy this year.
But right after I sold the '87 I heard of an '06 997S for sale locally. It was an S which was nice and it had the options I wanted (6 speed, full leather, sport chrono, 3 spoke leather wheel, Carrara white, sand beige interior etc). I arranged a test drive the next Saturday morning. Of course I was nervous with anticipation as I had never driven a newer 911.
My first impression after driving it was how tight it felt -- the steering, controls, acceleration, everything. I took it out on the interstate so see what it could do and was blown away by the amount of low end torque. It wants to go fast and it wants to go fast right now! I knew I would have to put an offer in on this car after only a few minutes of driving.
Some background: the only owner before me was an elderly gentleman who owned a warehouse of cars. He loves 911s and kept the car absolutely immaculate. It only had 11,600 miles and he kept it in showroom condition. He added satellite radio, clear bra and super sprint exhaust. The PPI came back clean and the DME readout showed very few revs in range 3 and none above. I think this was one of the nicest '06 997S models for sale in the country.

Really nice!! Mine is an '06 S and white/sand like yours. I love the white as it is just so clean looking and shows off the nice lines in my opinion. It is very quick and has had zero mechanical issues at 54K. I have been running Pirelli P-Zeros but am going to try some Michellin Pilot next time around as the P-Zero seems to hunt around too much. The car has been everything I ever expected from a Porsche.

Did it not strike you as extremely low mileage for a 5 year old car?
Guess that did not concern you. Any chance he has other 91s for sale in as good condition as the one you purchased?
I do love the c
