Default Duck Tail!

Now I have the mod bug again. I am considering putting on old skool BBS honecomb style wheels and maybe a duck tail. Anybody know off hand what the duck tail runs for the 997?

If you are asking about the duck tail that is on the Euro-only Sport Classic, then that tail costs about $280,000.00 since you cannot buy one separately from any Porsche outlet. There are no spares at the factory. Part of the deal for those folks was the exclusivity of that tail to those cars only. And the molds were destroyed to prohibit them from being reproduced later.

Makes it tough if you are are Sport Classic owner and suffer a rear-end collision that destroys the duck tail. But those cars are highly unlikely to see much daylight.

There are, however, a few aftermarket folks who have been making duck tail-like rear spoilers for 996 and 997. Some of them are adverstisers here.

Thread about Duck Tail installed. In Post #46, the thread Starter (THE HULK) stated he got it from Getty Design.

Sargepug,

Thanks. I'm not Misha, but I have to thank him for taking a chance with me to make a customed whale tail .

The war memorial is the Hawaii Punchbowl Cemetary, better known as, the National Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific. It's quite an impressive place.

Where is the memorial, the big Island? I was so pissed that when I went about 15 yrs ago and visited Pearl Harbor, it was closed due to some government shutdown BS!

Looks good, 808c2s. Does the duck tail lid retain the cold air intakes of the standard deck lid?

Punchbowl, which is the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is just above downtown Honolulu. They have just rebuilt the Pearl Harbor visitor center so please visit if you can.

I have seen 808c2s' car many times (usually from the rear trying to catch him) and it looks great. Ask him about his engine mods.

No problem.

The tail is not on their website. You will have to contact Misha or Mike via email or phone to ask about this tail.

As for the Memorial cemetary, it's on Oahu. Vexed's description pretty much sums t up.

Thanks Mike. The tail replaces the lid only. You will still retain the full functionality of the OEM CAI.
