Yikes...it's a 20k recommendation now? My 996 is quite a bit older than your 997, but I do it every 5k...basically 2x per year. My oil analysis came back pristine showing I could go longer, but I prefer to over maintenance, especially with fluids and filters.
My is my D/D and w/ Mobile 1 0-40W change at every 5K (as a matter of fact just did change this pas Sunday, myself and found what I thought was RMS leak..that's another story so won't digress). Next change plan to flip to 5-40W (Gastrol) and install LN Engineering magnet drain plug as well as their Spin on oil filter adapter. (Do search on OCD Oil change if your curious.)
Each car gets about 5,000 miles per driving season. Oil is changed yearly prior to winter hibernation. Used oil analysis done by Blackstone Labs. All is good.
My car doesn't have a dipstick so I assumed it doesn't have oil either. I was wondering why all those red lights and warning indicators were going off.
