Default Oil change advice

How often are you changing your oil? I know porsche recomends 20k or every 2 years, but that seems too long. Btw i have a 09 Targa pdk. TIA.

Yikes...it's a 20k recommendation now? My 996 is quite a bit older than your 997, but I do it every 5k...basically 2x per year. My oil analysis came back pristine showing I could go longer, but I prefer to over maintenance, especially with fluids and filters.

I have it done every 5k. Small price to pay to have the car looked at by the techs on a regular basis.

The recommendation in the maintenance book for my '09 is 1 year or 10,000 miles, not 2/20. I don't put on 10K in a year so I change every 12 months.

My is my D/D and w/ Mobile 1 0-40W change at every 5K (as a matter of fact just did change this pas Sunday, myself and found what I thought was RMS leak..that's another story so won't digress). Next change plan to flip to 5-40W (Gastrol) and install LN Engineering magnet drain plug as well as their Spin on oil filter adapter. (Do search on OCD Oil change if your curious.)

I drive 4-5K miles per year and change the oil at least once a year.

Every 5k - easy to remember. I put about 8K/year as my DD.

Each car gets about 5,000 miles per driving season. Oil is changed yearly prior to winter hibernation. Used oil analysis done by Blackstone Labs. All is good.

My car doesn't have a dipstick so I assumed it doesn't have oil either. I was wondering why all those red lights and warning indicators were going off.
