I once valeted my 964 and they pulled it around with the smell of abused clutch. I would not valet if I can help it w a 6MT. They can do a lot of damage very quickly. With PDK, I feel a little more comfortable. But only valet if I really have to and its a high end establishment.

When I had my Superformance Cobra replica, it had six different switches that had to be in the right order and position to actually crank the engine. Two battery cut-offs, two anti theft switches, trans lock out, key, and an Aircraft kill switch. I got to know the valets at the several restaurants we went to in Charlotte, they would study their college course work between parking cars. I enjoyed chatting with them, their career and educational goals, plans, and since they liked to put my car right out front, i tipped them well. Plus, they kept the kids from touching the hot sidepipes.
Now, with my 997, I would only let a valet park my car if i knew them.
I suppose there are all sorts of valets working out there. But the ones i have gotten to know all seemed like they were working hard to fund their career goals. I worked day and night jobs too, when I was young.
Perhaps if i looked down and saw the valet wearing Pilot or other racing shoes i might be antsy about giving up my keys.
All the best....

It really is a shame, because I would love to take my Porsches to more places, such as Casinos, etc, but the valet parking always kills that thought.

There is no place that special for me that I'd ever valet park any of my vehicles.
No major damage in past events, but wife has valet parked her sedan a number of times over the past few years, and the curb rash (some from them, some from her) is ridiculous.
I will never valet park, regardless of which vehicle I'm driving. If it's mandated, I leave or park blocks away and walk. Case closed.
We've all seen the videos. It's our property. And the legal disclaimer on the back of the claim check is enough to choke even the best lawyers.
Just park it and walk.

I use to valet about 8 years ago and you wouldn't believe the things people did to valet cars. Drive them hard, steal things, you name it. What was amazing is how little Porsches we would get to valet compared to ferraris/lambos/bentleys. Alot of posers I guess. Never valet, every 18 kid will want to drive it hard and irresponsibly!

If valet parking is optional, I will consider it. If your establishment requires valet parking, I take my business elsewhere. Valet parking doesn't make your business look like it has class, it just makes you look crass.

I do not valet.
Parked in the third row at Staples. Lot was empty. Did I mention the lot was empty? Come out and a grey accord is in the spot right next to me. In a EMPTY lot!

NO VALET for me either. I don't trust them. Even on a Porsche run, we stopped at a resort for lunch. The valet said we could park our own cars [GOOD] but said they need the keys. Since everyone else was giving their Porsche keys, (and there were a bunch of Bentleys etc.) I also did. After lunch I came out and they had moved my car closer to the next Porsche. Although no damage, I was kind of P*SSED!

I think I'm going to get a "fake" key that wont work in my car for just such occasions . . .
