Default Dogs in your 911?

I see by the avitars that many of us are dog lovers but how many actually take our faithful and SHEDDING 4 legged friends in our 911's? My dogs would LOVE it but I just can't handle the fur. And we wash them weekly. I also see nice dog platforms that would sit in the folded down seat back... Anybody using these? Safety?

I occasionally take dogs for a ride. I have a cover that connects to the front and back seats that keeps them from scratching the car and falling into the seat well. I use a harness to strap them in with the seatbelts and a pair of doggles. They absolutely love riding with their faces in the wind. I also get unusual looks. As to the fur, I vacuum the car after the ride.

Our dog doesn't shed, either, which takes a lot of the downside out of doggie car-rides.
However, at 70+ lbs, he's heavy enough when riding shotgun (his favorite spot) to set off the seatbelt chime, so I use the Chimex dealie.
He doesn't ride in the 997 much; he prefers (me too, when he's along) the MINI.

I love Annie, but ride in the 911? NFW. However, that's why I have the Cayenne; she's thinks it's her personal vehicle and rides in the cargo area.

Negative. My Katie (golden retriever) is truly man's best friend and a very sweet girl, but there is no way that beast is getting in my 911.

Audrey is 1.5 yrs old and 66 lbs now. She went in the C2S when she was a little bit smaller, but hated it. Now she won't even get in it. Would bring her along in the p-car if I could. Also, being a (mostly) german shepherd, she sheds like crazy. But, I don't mind. I have a good vacuum. I clean my wife's car every month. I have so many favorite pictures of her, she is my muse.

I take my beagle all of the time on trips--It's just a car. She sits in the back seat on a towel and has a harness that keeps her secure. I have not had any issues with hair that a quick vacuum couldn't fix.

It's just a car? My 99 A6 is just a car, Porsche is a bit more, at least to me, I couldn't travel with any other mammal unless she's blonde

Interesting thread. My daughters have been asking for a dog lately and I've been trying to figure how this will play in my head. Is it worth not taking the 997 to avoid the obvious downsides of a k9 passenger? We've decided to postpone the dog for at least a year so I'm safe for now.

Never tries the 911 when I had it but the small one did not fit in the 968 cab so I figured it was worthless to try the 911.

Yea, the point I was trying to make was that some things in life can't be replaced. I'd sacrifice the car over my dog any day.
