Your 997 has around 5,000 welds.

+1 thinking this was great, even though it's 2 years old.
ALSO the cup holders are designed to heat and cool your drink, Hot coffee in cold weather, and cool water in summer. Works well

Everything you need to know about the car is in the owner's manual.

There are 2 center stop lights one for when the spoiler is up and one for when the spoiler is down.

Not exactly true Dan The manual does not mention that when you drive your 997 to work you always tend to take the longest possible route

Also you will be attracted to camping, for spending many nights sleeping in the garage.....

You do NOT need the Steering Wheel controls, once you get used to the stalk on the side it does everything you would want.

I wish the stalk did everything I want...It won't let me scan through my presets on the radio or my sat...seems like such a no brainer.

For some reason you keep finding yourself looking out the kitchen window to see your P Car parked on the drive saying to yourself "I cant believe i have a 911, I'm sure i don't deserve it?"

Made my own with rubber shelving material I bought at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

Use the gas opening as a template and make the bib long enough to cover where the gas nozzle could touch the paint (4" or so). It will easily store back under the closed gas cap door.

Interesting I just got my car 3 weeks ago, I swear mine did exactly that. The only thing missing from the Stalk that my Prior Steering Wheel controls had was Volume Control.

I will have to check mine again, it definately changed the stations, but I am not sure if it was the presets or just a seek/scan feature.

Get the National Geographic Ultimate Factories Porsche DVD.
You can see the 997 build from start to finish with a complete tour of the Stuttgart plants. Very cool.
It's also on youtube in 5 parts.
- you could always stick a GoPro on the back if you wanna see the spoiler go up
- if you lock your car via remote, after 7 days the car "forgets" the key remote and you have to unlock with the key and reprogram
- if you don't lock it, it never forgets.
- headlight switch, pull one click=fog lights, two clicks=rear fog light, left side only.

Well, that explains it. I didn't realize there were two clicks. I just thought my right side rear fog light was broken. My wife's E550 cabriolet has rear fogs on both sides and I was feeling inadequate (or I would feel inadequate if she had any idea that her car had them).

Well, I tried it and I only have one click when I pull the headlight switch out ('09 C2 cab). That one click turns on the rear fog light (singular) on the driver's side. Does the 997 only have one rear fog light?

Yes - only one rear fog - European convention.
