I thought the reflector stripe was only on the 4S and not the 4?
The reflector is on all 4-WD, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa 4 and Targa 4S, but not on the Turbos.

Wow - learn something new every day! A reflector? I always thought it was a 'rookie stripe'!

You are referring to the pre-2009 cars. By the MY09 cars all the wide body Carreras came with the reflector--standard--not an option. The only wide bodies that didn't get it were the turbos. The addition of the rear center reflector was part of the facelift for the 997s in midterm.

Why yes I do on the wheels spokes, seat post and the jumper seat. The front is augmented with a light

Nevertheless, I love the reflector for the fact that it give the 997 a truly ol-skool look to the air-cooled Carreras. Plus it provides the visual effect of the "rear-end" being wider

Cheers!
I'm trying to picture what would look worse. Atlas lid on my car or meteor lid on yours.

No reflector strip, but now your car has the tell-tale "panty" line.

The reflector strip looks good in my opinion, but not so much on the red cars or I would be wanting this as well !

Dont you guys think this will solve the problem without expensive swap of lids?

I'd probably swap with you, but you would need to come to the west coast :-). Jet I wonder if it hurts resale value to change it, I guess it would
