Thinking of swapping my C2S rear lid with the new C4S...w/the red reflective strip
Is it a straight swap that I may "reuse" my wing and latch and any other "things" attached to the rear lid.
The 2 parts: rear C4S lid and red reflect strip is $960 CDN. Plus paint (I can do the install myself).
Anyone perform this change?

This should be a simple switch over. I don't believe for a second that Porsche would add another variable here--a slightly different size for the rear decklid on a wide body over a narrow body. From a manufacturing and engineering perspective, it would be foolish.
BTW, I saw a 997.2 one day at our local dealership that was a Carrera 4--but it LACKED the red reflective piece. It was a factory error. So, logically, if the Carrera 4 (997.2) accommodated a regular lid, then it follows that a reflective decklid will fit your regular narrow body.

I have seen a ton of 4's without the red reflector. Especially here in so cal. I personally do not like the reflector. Its a factory option to order it without the reflector.

Nevertheless, I love the reflector for the fact that it give the 997 a truly ol-skool look to the air-cooled Carreras. Plus it provides the visual effect of the "rear-end" being wider
Cheers!
