what are they asking? thats going to be your starting point. This particular car is one of the best cars have ever made. You have picked a good one. It was billed as an evolutionary upgrade from the 997.1, but it was revolutionary especially with the PDK. Its just ONE HELL OF A CAR!
You picked a good one. Make sure its got sports chrono that unleashes the top performance out of this car.

Well, I haven't yet decided to upgrade. I was just thinking that with the 991's around the corner, all the 997.2 prices should come down.
I am seeing very nice cars in autotrader for around $69k to $73k, depending on options. But I am also not in a rush.
Thanks,

Talked to my dealer this afternoon and he says they expect to start taking orders for the 991 "soon" expecting them to arrive September. I'm also looking at 08/09 and he agreed that waiting for the official announcement and the resultant tick down of 997 pricing was the correct game plan.

991's are expected to come in as a MY2013. US dealers have MY2011 and MY2012 911's to sell, so that is the focus right now. PAG and PCNA will not open 991 order books probably until very late this year for Spring 2012 production. I suspect all early 991's arriving at US dealers on the first quarter of 2012 will not by spec'ed by dealers but by PAG & PCNA. So they will get what Porsche has decided to build & send them - typical of past experiences when new 911 platforms are introduced by Porsche. My dos centavos, for what is worth. z356 (carmel)

that soon, whoa... I better start talking to my dealer about a deal on a 997.2 ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
anybody planning to ****** a good discount on a 997.2 inventory, right before the 991 arrives ?
I know the 996 prices really plunged after the 997 came up but I think the 997.2 should hold a little better, even though it seems some DFI engine problem start to surface lately
Phil.

I am in the market thinking whether I should save $ and wait for the 991 -or- get a MY11 997.2 on a lease for 2 years then switch to a 991. My dealer told me that the MY2012 is probably a half year model run and the 991 should be here in March/April 2012. Nowadays I dont see dealers (n > 5) are giving out huge discounts on the '11 997.2s. Max I found is a 7% discount. it seems logical to wait rather than spending $180 a hour as spiderv6 suggested.

the 997.2 prices probably wont come down till the 991s have been out for awhile. Its going to take awhile for the Porsche public to accept or not accept the 991. Midway through the first month of 991 sales the 997.2 will drop like you expect.

I think $72K-$75K on a < 10K Miles 09 997.2 PDK (nav, sport chrono, etc.) is a fair price. I have seen a lot of launch cars w/o nav are not sold even at $76.5K. When the 991 comes out, I dont think there will be any MY11 in the showroom anymore.
