First impressions of Tubi on a 997.2
Did a quick search and didn't find much so here's my take. Drove a -10 C4S with factory PSE and thought it sounded ok. A little on the peaceful side for my likes. The Tubi on the DFI engine just blows me away though. Completely different than the PSE on the DFI cars and the Tubi on my old -06 which was mostly deep gurgle, grunt and higher pitched versions of that at 4000 rpm+. This is much more mechanical. "Exotic euro" some might say. Overall a much higher pitched, raspy, edgy full sound with pops and gurgles blended in. Compress all that into a 1/2 second package and that's what a PDK shift in sport plus mode with the Tubi sounds like. Cup car effects. On the freeway at speed it's more of a wailing almost turbine aspired airplane kind of noise going through the gears.
In summary, I wouldn't own a DFI car without the Tubi exhaust having driven it in this configuration. Completely intoxicating and a drastic change compared to stock (and the PSE imo). Much more so than going from stock to Tubi on the -06 C4S.

Eliminating the 3rd muffler improves the sound dramatically. This won't give you the Tubi sound if the side mufflers are still OEM, but it will "improve" the OEM sound.

Thanks for the review! I've already ordered mine from Sharkwerks over 2 weeks ago and am excited when it arrives and have it finally installed. A couple more weeks delay in delivery I was told. :-(.

We need to get all the exhaust iterations together in one place.
Then get sounds from all on the same clip.
Sounds like a good excuse for coffee and lots of Porsche's.

Interesting the way Porsche changed the exhaust between the 997.1 and 997.2. On the 997.1 the cats are where the 3rd silencer sits on the 997.2. I wonder why they felt they needed a 3rd silencer on the 997.2.
Is your old 997.1 tubi up for sale yet

One of the issues causing the anemic sound of the 997.2 exhaust (both stock and PSE) is the 3rd (center) muffler. This is really a resonance chamber which "pre-muffles" the sound before it reaches the mufflers. This is the reason Sharkworks, Tubi, and others have developed straight pipes to move the exhaust directly from the cats to the side mufflers (as seen in the pic you posted of the Tubi exhaust system.
Eliminating the 3rd muffler improves the sound dramatically. This won't give you the Tubi sound if the side mufflers are still OEM, but it will "improve" the OEM sound.

I must be getting old because I find the stock setup adequately loud and have trouble imaging any increase in the decibel level being pleasing to my ears. Looks wise the Tubi is beautiful shame it is concealed under the car.

I dont know what they sound like, But I do know the cost of anything Tubi. For me, Id choose the same thing, Agency Power for about $1600. A crossover pipe and a small canister muffler.

I would except I think it's pretty much useless and maybe even a deterrant. I've listened to some of the clips already available and I sure as hell wouldn't order a system based on what I heard in those. You have to hear it in person plain and simple. Too much is lost in the video/audio translation. Applies to all exhausts imo.

Not yet. Dealer did the swap late Friday and still has the Tubis. I got such a crappy response here on the sale of my Champion wheels that I think I'll have to put the Tubis on Ebay instead of relying on this outlet to give me the best price. Hope you understand.
