Default Even more tire choices today!

I just did a search for 997S sizes on Tirerack and we got even more tire choices today, looks interesting and fantastic!

Some tires to note:
- Continential DW is AMAZING value!
- RE050 still cheapest N-rated
- Michelin Pilot Super Sport is cheaper than PS2 by $500!
- Bridgestone NEW S-04 looks very interesting and must be great for wet roads

Continental DW is reportedly the absolute best rain tire on the market right now, and has displaced Toyo R1R as the rain tire of choice for autocrossers. It's apparently slightly slower in the dry than the fastest summer tires, but still a really fast tire.

How many thousand miles does it last? How much road noise does it make? I don't know, why does it even matter?

On Hankooks again. Just mounted rears again and they do great for everyday driving and especially rain. Can't see paying over $1k for 4 tires again.

Continental DW is a great great road tire, with the price discount there's really no reason to get anything else. They're slightly quieter and softer than PS2's, so if you want that super sharp feel it may not be for you, but seriously on the road with varying surface conditions it may actually be better.

i have the conti 3 which has been replaced by the DW. I have the DWS on my GLI and touareg and the wear and traction is superb. Ive been able to get 17K miles so far on my C4S rears and am down to 4/32, so its obviously a great wearing tire. As i have the turbo 19s, they provide a great balance of steering turn in and tire compliance as low profile tires have such little compliance. I would highly recommended these as a street tire and in fact would think they are the best for the money. I really dont see how the PS2 or any other tire could be that much better of a tire if your predominantly driving on the street, the track may be a different story though..

I have a pretty new set of the Continental ExtremeContact DW on my E55 AMG. It's a great tire for the money. My E55 has had everything from OEM Michelin Pilot Sports, to Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position S-03s, to Goodyear Eagle F1s. I liked the Michelins the best, Goodyears second, Conti's and Bridgestones about equal. But for the price, the Conti's are a great value.

On the Porsche, I've got Pirelli, which have been just fine. But plan to switch to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports when they wear out.

All of them are good ones, which is best for you depends on driving style. The DW's are a runaway hit. As long as Continental can keep us stocked with them they will continue to be. For the money there isn't anything they don't do well. The RE050 is my present favorite N rated tire for wet traction and ride comfort. The Super Sport? Going to be in a world all its own once they come out. DON'T be afraid to call me and preorder them. Half of what I have coming in on our first PO's are already sold. The new S-04 is definitely next generation for Bridgestone as well.

LOTS of good choices right now and we are very excited to get out and start testing this season. Stay tuned.

Cool, looking forward to the testing. Love to see how does Super Sport compare to PS2, Pzero and S-04.

it is pretty informative.

if they would make 255/315 then it probably would be a game changer, but in current sizes for 8/10 stock rims - makes no sense to bother imho...

but for folks on 19" it probably will be a best option all around - 245/305 or what they got there. still, almost $1600 shipped but this 19" fun does not come cheap anyway.
