I have the 5mm spacers, ordered this way from the factory. The best benefit is, that it makes it a little easier to clean the wheels, inside barrels and calipers. That little bit (5mm) pulls the wheels slightly out, and you can get your hand in there a little better, without having to remove the entire wheels.
72offsuit's wheels will be difficult to clean, regardless.
Although a lot of work, if you really want to clean in there properly you should do yourself a favor--take the wheels off. In the long run the job is much easier. (And precisely one of the reason why I ordered my car with PCCBs).
I have the Sport Wheels as well, but in 07 the wheel came with 15mm spacers...did you add the 5mm on top of the 15mm spacer ?
Did you buy the car new with 15mm spacers? On the widebodies, the Carerra Sport wheels should have come with the widebody fitment and then no spacers would have been OEM. One way to check is to look at your offset - should be stamped on the wheel rim by the valve stem - you should see 11.5 to the left of the valve stem and 50 to the right. If it says 67 to the right then you have the narrow body version and I can understand why a 15mm spacer was fitted. But to answer your question, you shouldn't add a spacer to a spacer. Sounds like OP has the 50mm offset and he added the 5mm spacer to that. Maybe it wasn't until 08 that a 50mm rear Carerra Sport wheel was offered - if that's the case with yours then a I think a 17mm spacer was the factory add-on you can tell since that spacer is fitted to the hub with the OEM lug bolts and the wheel is fitted to the spacer with lug nuts.
