I changed the standard seats to GT3 seats (take-out's from 09 GT3 going racing). Alcantara inserts. They have power and heat, but no memory.

Absolutely brilliant, particularly on long trips. Night and day.

Thanks for the responses thus far. Sounds like the adaptive sports seat are a good potential. I need to head to the dealer & check them out....pt767

When I had leather comfort seats on my first 2 cars, I always lusted for adaptive sport seats. But as much as I love the *** on my current car, I never found the comfort seats lacking, even on long trips. One day I drove over 900 miles from Bend Oregon to OC and was comfortable for the whole long day. But of course, I have been equally comfortable on the *** seats on similarly long drives too, and love the slight improvement in lateral support. Plus, I like the looks of them better.

Similar problems here. I've been having trouble getting the seating to be comfortable for more than about 45 minutes, but am getting closer to being comfortable with adjusting...

I went to the manual (!) and tried the instructions for power comfort seats - knee slightly bent with clutch fully depressed, and wrists on top of wheel (more or less). So, I'm more upright than I'd have ever tried, and it's much better. Also found tilting the seat bottom towards dumping me forward is much better. So I'm sitting very upright, and my thighs are almost unsupported. This configuration is much better for my lower back, which otherwise gives me sciatica like nerve enervation down my left leg (unusual for me, as I've had trouble with the other side).

My wife, who has no lower back problem, has yet to get comfortable in the car. We've only had it about 4300 miles, so I hope we can get there. Last weekend we took the Fiesta on a 1200 mile run to NC and back, and it would've been SWEET to take the pcar... Though we got about 37 mpg.

We even went out and drove a Caddy V Coupe a couple of weeks ago to see how comfy that was. It was comfy. Nice Recaro interior, and you could tell where each wheel was all the time. I was Surprised. Not going there, but surprised!

Some people complain about the weight of the Adaptive Sport Seats but they can't be that much more than the others, in the great scheme of things.

Dan, I read somewhere that each *** weighs 70 lbs.

By comparison, sport buckets weigh less than half that; the equivalent of adding 9+ HP with additional positive effects on handling and braking. On the street it doesn't matter much, for sure, but when differences in autox runs are measured in 1/100's of a second, that weight advantage is a bigger deal.

I have had the sport seats (not the ***) in both 997's and find them to be one of the most comfortable seats I've ever had, both for short and long trips. The only seats possibly better were the DEEPLY bolstered seats in my C63, but they made getting into/out of the car more difficult as a daily driver (partially due to the closer seating position to the steering wheel/smaller door of the small sedan).

The seats are heavy. Dedicated sports cars shouldn't come with seats. Get rid of the extra weight.

All the seats are good, even done a road trip with sport buckets.
By road trip I mean 2,000mi each way with 8-10hr days in the GT3!

I too like yourself suffer from lower back problems as i have a degenerative disk, however i have the adaptive seats and heated seats option and am perfectly comfortable, i can dial in a very comfy setting and its nice to also be able to adjust the lumbar up and down and in and out.

I can only expect arthritis one of these days. Was from a trauma accident about 9 years ago. Take a codine-based analgesic for pain. The seat heater is a God-send.

Don't go cheap on seats. They're so important for a number of reasons.

My wife and I took a 3500 mile 10 day trip last Sept. We both found Sport seats (non adaptive) to be very comfortable.
