Default E-Z pass question

Do I need to have the E-Z pass at a specific location on the windshield ( like near the rearview mirror) ? I'd like to just have it on the dash, temperally then put it away. I'm not sure if it will register that way.

I leave it in the center console and pull it out and put it on the dash while going through the toll booths. Then it gets put away for the next time. And if it doesn't register, they take a picture of your license plate to bill your account so no worries here in California.

It works just fine on the dash here in the Northeast. No worries. I just lay it up there before the toll booth and put it back in the glove box after I go through the tolls.

Here in FL they have one that's about the size of a credit card, flat, and sticks to the windshield with double-sided tape. Much nicer than those boxy things with suction cups we used to have. It costs $5 and comes with $5 toll credit so it's actually free.

I leave it stuck on the winshield low to the left just over the inspection sticker on the lowermost portion of the winshield and it works fine!

In the glove compartment and pull it out when needed. Looks like crap when visable in a car like that.

Mine is the sitcker type stuck on the windscreen. I have it such that I can't see it when driving as it's hidden by the rear view mirror. Works fine for me but annoys the hell out of me when I see the big white square from the outside. Someone posted a pic where they made it look black (sticker or paint or something) before installing it and I wish I had done that.

Wish they had the sticker type here in NJ. I also think the "Big White Box" look like crap.

I have the license plate version. You have to ask for it if you want it. See pic below:

I spray painted mine flat black. It stays near the top in back of the mirror. With the factory tint along the top you really can't see it. I've even had a few toll takers ask me where is your "Sunpass" as the gate was going up.

EZ-Shadow (http://ezshadow.com/) is a black plastic box and Velcro tape combination that makes your EZ-Pass much less visible. I got it. It works.
