It seems their writer thinks something like me:
If you want that pure driving experience, step it down a few notches (and a few dozen thousand dollars) and go for something like a Carrera S or the GT3 RS, both of which offer old school, six-speed manual transmissions. Chances are cars with three pedals in the footwell aren't long for this world, so enjoy 'em while you can -- even if it means giving up a few seconds on the track.

I'm sorry, another poorly written senseless article. It starts badly right on the first paragraph with contradictory statements. The poor guy has no clue.

It's a perfectly good article. Perhaps you can point out the contradictions and also highlight some of the poorly written and senseless pieces?

I too am confused as to just what is an actual flat six ? I have a 993 which I know is a flat six, but I thought the newer Caymans, Boxster, and 997s (non-Turbos) had a "boxser" engine that was a wannabe version of my flat six ?
The article does not note the differences in engine designs in the various cars. He gives the reader the impression that all the non-turbo engines are basically the same "boxser" design (?).

Boxster is a model of car. Boxer is an engine configuration. It's just another term for a "flat" motor.

Tim, I'll start by saying that I couldn't write an article period. That said, I felt like you rephrased the material you came across while researching the car. The basic motor available on the current 911 has 355hp, not 385 as the article states. ("Engine choices range from the 385hp, 3.6 liter...") The article doesn't captivate on any level. Sorry.
Now the video... The bits recorded on the car have poor sound quality. The other half of the video is filled with Porsches own animation bits. At one point you are talking about launch control with AWD animation on the screen. Feels like beginner's work .
We are a tough crowd here. You picked a subject that has been covered brazillion times, so you are automatically compared to the best writers that ever existed. Your article might be a success in a Sunday Sun aimed at a general public, but out here i expect nothing but the best. I wish you luck, pal. Don't give up!
