I'm here learning about 911's to purchase one, so I don't have one.
My question would be, is there an aux jack?
If yes, you could get a Bluetooth gateway and put that into the aux and stream to that device.
I had it in my Subaru WRX, and my 2003 MINI Cooper S and it worked great.
My 2010 GTI has it built in and I love it. But the functionality was about the same with my Blackberry Bluetooth gateway (Belkin & Logitech make them too, about $30)c

Hope that is helpful.

If one has the Universal Audio Interface option, they have an AUX in (3.5mm stereo jack), USB jack, and iDock jack. As mentioned, for the sports cars, the bluetooth interface with the PCM provides for the hands free phone usage and phonebook transfer as well as some data transfer, but not for audio streaming. Having a device that could get power from the USB jack and feed audio to the audio system via the AUX input would be very handy.. if it fit inside the center console tray.

Hi guys just registered on the forum after finding this discussion on Google. I have a 2012 Cayman R with the PCM/Bose option that I just love, aside from squeaks and this radio quirk. It's VERY frustrating to me to get in my friend's 2012 Jetta and have my phone work for stereo BT and not in my car! I can confirm that it works for bluetooth with my droid 3 for telephone calls, phonebook sync, etc...however aux bt just does not come up as an option. So frustrating!

Is it possible to get good/stereo sound using the aux cable input? Any time I've taken a headphone cable for example and gone from my droid to the aux input in rental cars the sound always is horrible. Am I using improper cabling, or how would this BT adapter be any better?
Thanks

Hypothetically a Aux input should be higher quality than bluetooth but I've done streaming in a Lexus and it sounds pretty good.

Lightman, get yourself an iOS5 device with wifi and leave it in the car full time. The beauty of the wifi is that once your car is in your garage, you can update the iOS5 device wirelessly. I say iOS5 because 5 is required for wifi updating. If you have an iPhone 4S laying around, that'll do the trick. I always use my last-gen iPhone as an iPod for my car. Works great. No muss no fuss.

I guess I need to google ioS5...not sure what that is. I'm a Droid guy, and verizon doesn't allow you to have two phones activated on the same number I don't believe. I already have a 120gb ipod permanently in the car with 60gb of music on it...but I want to stream pandora etc.

Ugh. I hate apple with a passion, but will probably need to get an ipod just for the car.

I think they're a good company, I'm just not a bandwagon hopper when there are equal or better products out there. I love my android phones. The only apple product I now own is a 160gb ipod classic, that permanently resides in the CR. At least it's hidden

You guys are funny. Apple was the underdog forever. Now that they've got the market share, they're no good. lol

Default Cheap solution!

I've been wanting to enjoy my online radio app on my iPhone for many months now. I researched online extensively. I emailed numerous car audio equipment shops. Everything gave me the same answer. There are a lot of 3rd-party options for the PCM 2.X and 3.1 versions. For those of us who are stuck with the PCM 3.0 really have no choice, but to improvise.

I eventually bought myself a cheap, yet effective, BT A2DP dongle, with a built-in USB power interface. I plug the dongle in the USB port on my 997.2 PCM 3.0 to get power and simply connect a regular 3.5mm AUX cable from the dongle to the AUX port!

Thumbs down Streams okay from phone from Google Map app

I usually post a lot on 6 speed, but have been doing a fair bit of snooping to find an answer on this problem.

In my 2012 Turbo S, I bought the Belkin BT to audio jack connector. The sound is alright. But it does get buggy sometimes for no apparent reason.

The thing that gets me is that the Google Maps App on my phone streams a voice to the PCM just great when you want to go somewhere. I've done this & then when you select iTunes & your music, nothing!

How frustrating when a Kia can do this & a > 100K over designed Porsche can't!

Still waiting for that ??? PCM update for my 911
