Default Near Perfect PPI !!

http://www.exoticmotorsmidwest.com/a...ack-em-731924/

Just got the report from Reid Vann in STL
issues
Horn inop (lower tone)
Battery needs replaced

Thats it.

The smell that I encountered on test drive was the Cosmoline still burning off the car from when new.
DME report no over revs (sending copy to me)
Alternator 150 amps
Compression 260 -265 per cylinder
Codes stored were dead battery issues
Paint checks to 4-5mils

Brian at Reid Vann asked how much I was paying for the car and said it was absolutely just like new.

Sometimes deals that look too good to be true, make you wonder. Excellent PPI's resolve any second thoughts !

I'm very pleased

Sounds great. Congratulations.

I see it's not flagged as sale pending on the dealers web site.

You weren't tempted by the snakeskin green viper they have!

It was pretty cool , they told me the Vipers are soft on the market now.
The whole place was full of high end cars...they were delivering 4 that week and had 6 incoming. Its just a small operation, and I have been well treated so far.

when i got a PPI on my 09' that i was selling i was thoroughly impressed in how detailed their inspection was. ($250) for the price, it makes me think that if i was the type that kept cars more than a year i would bring them in like every other year for a PPI to stay on top of things..

do all dealers offer PPI's? kinda makes me want to get my exige PPI'd to have them check the clutch thickness and fluid levels and any wear points.. (not that i would get the work done at the dealer.... but that i would know what to fix)

They didn't offer, I wanted a well known 3rd party inspection to see the car and go completely through it , no expense spared.
The owner has PPI's done to the cars he buys ,and understood my expectations.
I doubt I would have a PPI done every year on a car as long as I kept the maintenance up to date.

when i did my PPI after 16 months (all mait done on time) they found things like plugged drains (leaves) in front and rear that if left as is with rain season coming up would cause a possible flooded car.. found some electrical stuff not working 100% that was fixed under warranty, found that my PDK was acting up (after i had brought it in 3x and them saying they could not replicate the problem) also found a HPFP issue after all three times i stated "its either a HPFP issue or PDK cause it acts odd"

basically me seeing things and bringing it in yielded nothing, paid $250 and they found all the things i knew plus more.. which was well worth it (i assume they found problems because they wanted to fix them and charge $$$$$$)

It's always nice to know that things are as they should be. But remember, that car has been minimally used, so you have an obligation to recognize that it may need another battery soon, still needs some engine break in, and it can still suffer from infant mortality on certain parts that we in the 997 have learned are problematic (e.g., water pumps, power cables, cracks in sport exhausts, and other treats!). I hope your's is trouble free as it can be.

New battery being installed tomarrow. From the mechanics , several of them, the car looks to have been very well cared for. I agree the car is still in breakin period, I have no plans on running it hard anytime soon.
All the happy things Dan brought up, I will watch for..as with anything man made, they can, and will break.
This is basically a new car that I'm in at a great price, and has had a great life so far, and will be very well cared for by me.
