Congrats Jason, the 997 is an incredible daily driver. I kept mine put up the past two weeks with the snow we received, but broke it out again Sat. and have driven it every day since.
The only weird thing I noticed going from a 993 to a 997 is a blind spot on the 997 that didn't exist on my 993. I keep fooling with the 997 drivers side rear view mirror and can't get it right.
You have the best of both worlds now. Way to go!

That's a great price for what amounts to an almost new car. Congratulations. You did an excellent job of negotiating them down from the original price especially when the PPI didn't show up anything you could use and to have delivery thrown in as well is the icing on the cake.

Yeah, I'll have to spend a bit more time in the car to get the seating position just right. I really like the view from the front , the dash layout, and seeing both of the bright red side mirrors ...you really get the feeling of being in a very modern sports car..
Its not the raw feel of the 993, but its such a leap forward with the original design.

260-265psi per cylinder?
You may want to double check that.
I've never seen an engine that had below 13.5:1 static compression produce compression readings above about 240psi.
