I recently bought essentially the same kit used on eBay for $225. Shop around, there are deals to be had out there.
OK - turns out I bought a compact spare, not a collapsible spare. It's 17" from a Boxster, included jack, tool kit, styro insert and cover. All for $225 from Flea-bay.
Tried it last night on my '09 C2S, clears the rotor and caliper nicely on the front. Fits in the frunk as well.

Don't forget to pack a big trash bag or what Discount Tire uses and then also, see how to get the take-off into the back seat.
I also bought one for way under $300.. It's the inflated version but all tools are included along with a cover... Brand new....
To be clear, you are not buying the same kit, but a subset of that kit that has some common components. (tool kit, etc). The tire is different, the base is not in the kit you likely got off of ebay, so those two parts are pretty significant in the overall cost. The used ebay route can work, if the parts you get work for your car.
