I'm wondering if anyone uses these and if anyone uses 4 at a time? also what model do you have? also what jack are you using with them? Any other advise/comments?
There's a big thread on these in the 7GT3 forum.
I bought 4 and have my track car sitting on them right now. They are a very high quality product and work as advertised. The company is now a RL sponsor.
I bought two (one set). I see no reason for two. If a 997, its torsionally stiff enough for 1 jack point per side for both front and rear lift points (I use a pair of aluminum stands for the front). They are expensive but I got tired of dragging two jacks about. Move for convenience only as I bleed my brakes at least once a month for track days, so.......
I too have a 997 and a novice mechanic so to speak.I wanted to paint my brake calipers myself. I Bought a 2-1/2 ton jack for about $65 at Harbor Freight and Tool, 4 jack stands at sale price of $14.99 pair. Jacked up using 3 jack points - one in front of each back tire and one underneath in front of the motor. Edgy has a nice group of photos posted where they are if you look for his pics. I put my car up on all 4 jacks. No problem. And I'm just a guy who likes to do things myself. This forum is a perfect place to learn how to do what you want to do. It's how I did it....from this forum.
^ Not sure you understand the 'value' of this product. It lets you use the jack point under your jack for a stand so long as certain parameters are met; ie, that the "jackstand" can circumscribe (straddle ) your jack's plate....
I currently have plenty of regular jackstands and I'm in a tight NYC garage. I use the edgy method to get it up on stands but it's tough to jack the front end with the jack I have (not much clearance). Also, the process of getting it on the stands feels pretty precarious. Rock solid when on stands but the car is angled heavily when adding the second set of stands. I'm always concerned that something is going to slip and I'm going to end up with a jackstand in my backseat.
I currently do pretty much all of the service on the car myself (not sure if I would tackle an engine drop for clutch though). So it's definately worth it for me if these are stable and the lifting process is straightfoward and safe without having to dance around the car too much and jack in different areas.

Thanks
The stand was originally designed with safety and convenience in mind. Safety first, the JP cap makes positive contact with the Jack Point of the car, engaging the JP with a pin/V-Chanel that assures a solid contact.(No Slipping) Convenience second, by creating a patent pending design that allows you to lift the car at the point designed by Porsche to hold the weight, and put the stand in the factory jack point, in one step. This can be done in the front or back of the car, side by side with two stands or with all four corners using four stands.
The man who designed this product is a club racer with PCA. He also had that level of enthusiast in mind, consequently the ease of doing this in one step (saves time) was on his mind.

Got around to using these again today, finally, to change to track pads for next weekend. These things are great!!!!!!!. Half the time, no dragging multiple jacks about, simple to use, stable, etc... That is all. Carry on.
I have a set. Highly recommended to safely jack up the car. Expensive as jackstands but well worth it if you view it as a life insurance policy. Also makes jacking up your car a no brainer.
Just learn how to use standard jack stands. Its not rocket surgery. Be sure to test the jack stands, any jack stands including the ones in this post by pushing on the car as hard as you can once it is up on the stands to make sure it won't fall off the stands.
