Thanks very much for the tip! I've been in touch with Pioneer on this one...waiting to see what they would do on a trade for an 08 Cayenne S.....Any thoughts on whether their asking price of $74K is in the ballpark? Thanks again for the heads up!

I would ask them about the wheels. They list Turbo Wheels on the option list, but I believe the wheels in the picture are the Sport Design wheels.

I think pricing is high.

Great catch! Thanks for noticing the wheels...I will mention this to them. The price seems high to me too....wondering if low $60s is more like it?

The market on this car is a little tough to gauge, so I would compare it against Carrera 4S pricing. I think a good price would be mid to high 60's.

Agreed. Just not very many of these out there but comparing with C4S pricing sounds logical. Appreciate the advice.

Default 08 TARGA

I was looking the last couple of weeks for a great C4S Coupe. i actually saw 3 different Targas inc the one from a-hole Kessler. my frnd went to see it, offered him 3% less, he said NO.
I saw another one w a bit more miles at Gables, blck w Sand. the guy at Champion has a really nice Silver w Red int but alot of $$ because of factory Aerokit.

Today, i bought a GT Silver w Cocoa int C4S, Tip w CPO in Houston for less than $72 w sport seats, sport chrono, sport exhaust.

Targas should be priced very similar to Cabs. make sure it has some sort of factory warranty or WALK AWAY.

Good luck!

Congrats on your purchase!! Sounds like a beauty. Hope you post some pics so we can all revel in your acquisition! I tracked the Kessler one pretty hard but they would not come off. Felt they were playing some pricing games. Have also seen the one at Gables but I believe it might have a questionable history so I dropped it from my list. Might be the reason for the attractive pricing. Also saw the one at Champion but pricing is a bit in the stratosphere on that one, at least IMHO.

All that said, it sure makes for a really short list of possible candidates at this point!

Thanks for the tips and best of luck with your new wheels!!

Bought a car in Houston from Montreal? Now that's keeping your options open! Congrats and enjoy your C4S.

Targas are just cabs with a built on hard roof. If you can test the roof and it works fine there is no more risk in a Targa than a Cabriolet.

I'd agree on any of these cars be it a base C3, a T4, or Cab, TT,etc they should come with some sort of warranty because you cannot really listen, look and test for issues in any 'test drive'. Living with the car for a few months is needed to reveal many problems.

Looking at a 07 T4S Red/Black, CPO, 20K miles, 1-owner car (spt chorno, turbo wheels, full leather, etc.) Price is finalized at $65K. Is this a good deal in today's Porsche Pre-owned market?

Default T4S

I switched my 08 Cab C4S for a 08 T4S w ALOT of factory options. $140 list plus $16 at dealer. 21000 miles. $74,900 worth every penny.

They said it has done the certification tests when they got the car 5 months ago...they will CPO it when it is sold and leave their dealership.....So I went for a test drive today...found a high pitch noise when accelerating (salesperson said he didnt hear a thing), 9 chips in the front hood, 2 to 4 more on the sides, acceleration seems not as fluid as another C2S I drove...not easily rev to the 6K rpm range...it was pouring today so I drove only local streets.....I guess I need PPI and to see its DME....

Thanks for the information. Saw the post you initiated about your T4S and I have to say that your's is the most highly optioned Targa I have seen!! Great acquisition!
