007- this is the problem you face. First of all a TIP car that old is going to SINK like a ROCK in resale. IF you dont want a manual do WHATEVER you can to go 09 and PDK. The TIP is HORRIBLE in comparison.
As soon as you buy it you wont be able to sell if for 50% of what you paid for it. Stay away stay away stay away. You are in a no win situation with this car. Buy an 06 stick or for $20K more find a PDK 2009.
WIth the PDKs out the TIPs are going to take a huge hit

I'd agree. The tips pretty much suck compared to the PDK car...all day long. Spend the extra cash and find a nice PDK out there for sale...I've seen quite a few around if you look hard enough as either left over 2009 (harder to find) or 2010 cars (much easier). But I think you will regret it IF you get a tip compared to a PDK now that they are readily available. PDK has killed the tip market for those who do smart shopping IMHO.
As for manual vs tip/PDK also I agree with others. Buy the car based on who actually drives it. My wife has driven my 997.2 0.0% of the time and its a PDK. She drove my 997.1 maybe less than 5% of the time and my 996 about the same. She just doesn't like how low it sits and says it is just too difficult to drive slow in it. LOL I don't believe that one as I seem to have avoided serious jail time in all 3 of my 911's and a 987 to boot! But I think alot of it goes to overall comfort with the car and driving it. Bottom line if she'll likely never really spend any time behind the wheel AND you want a 6sp...get it. Its too much to spend on a vehicle IMHO to compromise. Good luck!
