Finally! A 997.1 S Cab as my DD!
I just purchased a 2006 Seal Grey C2S Cab with black interior and a black top, and 25k on the odometer. It had just a few options (19" Classic Wheels, Heated Seats, Bose, and Power Seats) and the best DME read out among the 12+ CPO cars that I examined (R1=306, R2=11, R3-R6=0). The car was purchased from a Porsche dealer in New York, and I flew in on Saturday afternoon and drove the car the 960 miles back to Alabama Saturday night and Sunday. The car is amazing...
This purchase means a lot to me because when I was in high school, I would drive up to Lime Rock to watch the Metro NY and Connecticut Valley Region "DE" events and I made a pact with myself that I would someday own three Porsches - 1) a 911 "special" for track only use, 2) a 911 for concours events, and 3) a 911 Cab as a daily driver. Living in the "snow zone" of Utah for the past 9 years made a 911 as a DD impractical, so I had to put the dream on hold. I'm in Alabama for a few years on job assignment, so thought this is the opportune time to buy the car and enjoy the backroads of the south.
I have attached two pictures - one from the dealer's website, and another of a very dirty car before dusk last night as I pulled into a Car Wash in Alabama. I hit snow in NY/NJ on the trip which was a shame as the car was delivered with a fresh polish...
Looking forward to hanging out more on this board and learning about the 997.1. Thanks to Rennlisters for all of the help over the years. It is greatly appreciated!
