Default Dark Blue C4s , need suggestions

My friend in CA is getting a 2011 dark blue C4s pdk car and I saw one in person and it looks stunning in dark blue and the stripe at the back of the wide bosy, like the 4 for the extra traction around corners.

I know 2012 there will be a new 911 , the current c4s looks very nice but not sure how the 998 will look or drive?I know interior will be modern like panameras but not sure of anything else

I giess 998 c4s will only be available in 2013, so are forum members needing a porsche ordering the 2011 or just waiting for the 998 to hit the dealerships?

it is always gets tough to spend 100k on a car when you know the redesign is less than a year away, thoughts?

If it were me, I'd probably wait for the new car at this point unless a) you could get a really great deal on a 997.2, b) you're looking at something like the GTS or Speedster, or c) you're absolutely convinced the new car will be inferior to the old one.

I don't think Porsche will wait an additional year to bring out a new C4 after the launch of the C2; 4-6 months at the most. But, unless your friend really needs the bad weather traction of the C4, he won't find that it handles any better, if as well, as the C2.

we felt the c4s had more mechanical grip even in dry around the corners compared to c2s

This is our observation though which is limited and may be the gts with wide body and wider rear will suffice and as you guys say who knows how good or bad the 998 willbe

Usually Porsche does not mess up with 911

Also, a note on 997.2 AWD.

I got a 997.1 C4S, and although the AWD system is older and not as advanced as 997.2, it has a MUCH better feel/lighter IMO. 997.2 C4S I bet would do better in snow/rain, but 997.1 AWD feels sportier, lighter, with better steering feel and drives a lot more like RWD.

They did tweak the AWD in Turbo S to be more sporty and we've had some great reviews of it... so that MIGHT be another worthwhile reason to wait for 991 C4/C4S, as I am sure the AWD would be enhanced.

The 997.2 AWD is so different, that I'd never consider it myself after my Nurburgring test!
