Default Black PCM

Does anyone remember if the PCM faceplate was an option to be black in a 997.1? I know they are black now in the 997.2, but I seem to recall that you could order this as an option before.

I'm sure not a fan of the 997.2 black PCM, it looks "plastic-y" and cheap compared to the standard silver on the 997.1.

Funny, i think just the opposite. I thought the 997.1 looked plastic and cheap compared to the 997.2. The transition appears to be smoother. I also had issues with the buttons peeling. It was some kind of film that slowly came off.

Sure, we can turn it any color you like. Satin Black matches the '09 finish, gloss to match rear console/exterior/other trim if desired.

Thanks Eric. I know you do great work.

BoxsterG, I'm with you. The grey never seemed to really fit with the other finishes in the car when they came out. It stuck out to me when I first saw the 997/987. I'm thinking about the change in my car to make it look like I thought it should have.

+1. I think the .1 PCM would look good in Alumalook.

Going to research removing the pieces now. The bottom piece with the "sport" button falls off on it's own already. How hard can the rest be?

Eric, is there an easy was to remove the PCM and have it painted?
