Default paddle with lights but no lights

have a 2010 c2s but how come the sports button does not come on when i installed the paddle shifters with lights??? do we need to turn this feature on with the piwis? I have to say though that this is perfect to shift this car. miles better for me than the buttons and i can rest my hands on the 3 and nine without thinking of hitting those damn buttons. not to mention the wheel is thicker and so much better to hold hahahah.great modification and relatively cheap considering the car

i have seen regular steering wheel with the lights located on top of the air bag module. mine does not have that but if that is a feature then it might need PIWIS intervention to activate on my new paddle steering?

My paddle wheel doesn't have the indicator lights; they would have been useless on my '09 without additional mods. I'd bet money that PIWIS activation is required to get yours to work even though your 2010 should be equipped for them (and assuming you made all the proper connections.)

Glad you like the paddle wheel. I'm sold on mine; it was a very worthwhile upgrade.

hi mike, i hope your right. i guess connections would be right since dealer was the one who installed just wondering why they do not know the featuer and how to turn it on. i guess i was the first one in the country to make the modification. dealers first experience. was a bit disappointed that they installed the wheel a bit off center. will be returning on monday for a back job and hopefully an activation.

Rick, when you said "I installed" in your OP I thought you had done it yourself. Absolutely; take it back and have them make it right. As you said, they should have known what they were doing, including getting the d#mn thing on straight! Good luck.

i think mike is right, but any other opinons to activation of indicator lights on the paddle shift upgrade for a 2010? should tthe lights automatically work on installation or should the piwis be used for activation of these 2 decorative lights?

ok here is my experience with the installation of the steering wheel. installation is so easy and takes less than 30 minutes by a technician who is trained. Now for 2009, there is no provision for the indicator lights on the wheel so if you have a wheel with indicators and a 2009 car the wheel will fit bt wont light up the lights on the wheel. If you have a 2010, installation is a diy but you need the piwis to activate the indicator light on the wheel. this takes another 15 minutes to do on the old piwis machine... thats it. this wheel is so beautiful in looks and operation compared to my old wheel! the best upgrade IMO.
